Thanks for doing this Carrie. I’m in the same boat as Marlon. I am very close to 10,000 subscribers but things have stagnated ever since the flood of celebrities began. Those of us who don’t have national followings are being swamped by the influx of the people you describe. I’m fortunate in that other writers with platforms have been promoting my work. I hope this doesn’t become Substack’s core business model.
Those media folks joining relatively recently, as a whole, were okay with spewing crap until they got canned or reassigned by their respective bosses. They remind me of MAGA. You know the “Tariffs are great” people who only get angry when the 💩 from the fan hits them.
There are a few who are legitimately trying to fix this FUBAR but most MSM coming here are in it for the $ and attention, imnsho. It’d of been great if they’d had the courage to do what was right before they got canned. 😡
Thank you; my gratitude for this is well beyond my ability to express. Your voluntary function as editor of a vital anthology of reports and analyses from what we should all recognize as the Resistance Press fills a profound need and thus may be the most significant journalistic contribution to the fight against tyranny since The Village Voice emerged to perform a similarly heroic function in the battle against the McCarthy terror. You know my own background; if there is anything at all I might do to help, please do not hesitate to ask. Meanwhile -- with heartfelt hope you and yours remain out of the reach of the MAGAstapo -- I salute you for your courage and determination.
Thank you Carrie! I agree with you 100% and thanks for more woman writers! I listed to the say live stream yesterday as you did! I want to hear everyone's stories not just famous people! And I love that Ted talk!!!
Thank you Carrie! I already read or subscribe to more Substacks and other daily email letters than I can handle (or afford).
If it is allowed, I have another recommendation. I faithfully read "Wake Up to Politics" by Gabe Fleisher every morning. It is among the best, most insightful explanations of what goes on in Washington. If you want clear analysis of why our government does what it does, "WUTP" is the place to start. The fact that Fleisher is just a year out of college makes it more amazing.
It is free but of course upgrades are appreciated.
