As many of you know, I am writing about analyzing one chapter of Project 2025 every two weeks till November. P25 is the 900-page document published by the Heritage Foundation that aims to serve as a blueprint for “the next conservative president” - which is a phrase repeated throughout.
Hopefully, I will be able to achieve the goal of making this purposefully obtuse document into something that is clear and understandable.
The last analysis came out on Sunday, July 21 - which turned out to be a big news day with Biden dropping out and the Harris train revving up. If you missed it, click at the bottom to read about P25’s plans for Health and Human Services.
There are some themes that run through all the P25 chapters:
Families must include only cis and straight men and women
Abortion is murder
Trans and gay people are “unnatural”
“Medical Technology” for creating families is bad - that would include birth control, IVF, surrogacy
All regulations that are not about pregnancy and birth will be gone - along with the agencies that manage them. That includes the Dept. of Education and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Women’s rights - in pay, in legal proceedings, in college admissions - will be erased
Project 2025 is intentionally vague. For instance, the chapter on Justice says “the next Republican president” will “conduct and immediate, comprehensive review of all major active FBI investigations and activities and terminate any that are unlawful or contrary to the national interest.”
Sounds like they want to rein in bad cops, right? A bit of research shows they really want to stop investigations into people they like - like white supremacist groups or men accused of rape - and ramp up investigations into Black and Brown people.
This series will try to illuminate some of that intentionally vague language.

I’m a Biden fan. I was sad to see him go!!
This whole thing is terrifying. What I’ve been thinking about recently is how they’re already implementing a lot of this with a democratic president. How much of this will they still be able to get done when Kamala wins? How many years is it going to take to turn all of this around?
