Thank you so much for this.

Great, great comparison. It's been almost two decades since #MeToo got going, and #MeToo didn't come out of nowhere. But at the highest levels they still don't get it.

The good news apart from Dushku’s damage award is that congress did indeed pass an exception to the Federal Arbitration Act (which SCOTUS has turned into a black hole for consumer and worker lawsuits) for sexual harassment cases.

I appreciate the insight into Dushku's case. too. and found the analogy very apt.

It’s time for the New York Times to have new management.

Thanks for writing this. I had been wondering if I’ve just been reading the Times all wrong - how can they refuse to declare what’s going on with the Republican whose name I can’t even write!?! I’m so disgusted by them and him. Deep breath- I’ll go write more GOTV post cards now.

Yes! Postcards. I’m also listening to Maddow’s Ultra season 2. She shows very clearly how so much journalism (like the Trib) has always failed us.

I disagree about the normalcy.

Sure Trump’s actions are not alarming or distressing to them.

If they were appalled they would do something different.

Does this matter? I do not think so.

What matters is what they do.

They lie. Intentionally.

To see someone say one thing very clearly, and have it on record, and then to state it as something other than what they said is a lie.

They are not stupid people. And the reaction to Trump among many white men, even conservative ones, shows you can’t really normalize him entirely so that he’s like the sea you’re swimming in. They have ears. They know what he said. They simply want to obfuscate it and write things which are deceptive.

It doesn’t matter why. They do it. They can’t be trusted. They are deceitful. And this piece on Sulzberger shows they are also manipulative. They want to make us see them as respectable and maybe even heroic. Fat chance. They have destroyed their credibility, they know what they’re doing, and it is wrong—both because it’s wrong to deceive but also for the consequences.

For anyone interested in understanding how the media represents ruling class interests you can’t get much better than Will The Revolution Be Televised?by the late , great John Molyneaux.

More people can just drop their subscription like I did a week ago.

I also spent a lot of time commenting on some of the invalid Whataboutism kind of reporting and it never got me anywhere. In my last few comments I kept saying that I was going to drop my subscription. And that's when the comments stopped getting posted.

Great piece.

The NYT published story after story about Hillary's emails and the Clinton Foundation.

Do any of you remember that kind of coverage about Trump's ties to the mob?

The NYT broke the story about George Santos AFTER the 2022 election even though Newsday broke the story before the election. The NYT broke the story about Alito's flag in Virginia four years after January 6th. People in Northern Virginia have home delivery of the Times and I doubt they only stumbled over it in the last few months.

(And don't get me started on the WaPo.)

The NYT and WaPo have done everything to protect and enable Trump for nine years.

There are no excuses.
