Something terrible happened this week. I took the New York Times News Quiz and only scored 8 out of 11! And I guessed on two of the ones I got right based on prior knowledge.
I am sick about this. Except I’m not. My twins turned 21 on the 21st and we have been hanging with family, watching both good and bad movies, and reading a lot of books. Fiction books.
I believe the word for this may be “vacation”? Not sure. It’s not a word or concept I’ve ever been familiar with.
Anyway, because I seem to be on… whatever that word means, AND I have been paying almost no attention to what’s happening around us, AND because I just don’t feel like being introspective right now… what you, dear subscribers, get this week is a wish for 2024 with lots of love, fun, food and criminal convictions (of a certain former reality TV show star and his enablers). Oh, and since Nevada kicks off presidential primary season in a mere five weeks, I encourage you to vote like our democracy depends on it.
Because it does.
